Children: Seven children, including Catherine E. Hatch Dobson of Independence, Missouri, who was 96 in 1999.
John Henry Hatch was a contractor and builder who built many homes and camps in the Adirondacks, including the Mark Twain Camp on Lower Saranac Lake. He was also a volunteer fireman, shown in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise's "Picture from the Past" on April 10, 1999. In a letter to the editor on April 28, his daughter Catherine identified him as "the man in the front row in the gray suit." Since the caption on the photo says that most of the men had No. 1 on their hats, they were probably members of the first fire company in the village.
