The Malone Palladium, November 15, 1906

. . .At the corner of Church and River streets, on Monday afternoon of last week, says the Saranac Lake Enterprise, Harriet Davis, aged seven years, daughter of Calvin Davis of 57 River Street, caught a ride on a heavy stone wagon belonging to John Liscomb. Before they had gone very far Harriet had occasion to laugh at something, and, losing her balance, fell off the wagon, whereupon one of the rear wheels passed directly over her abdomen just above her hips. The little girl was quickly taken to her home nearby and Drs. Abbott and Russell summoned. Strange to say it was discovered that, though badly shaken up and in considerable pain, the child had sustained no serious injury. Twenty-four hour after the accident she was fairly comfortable and promised to make a speedy recovery.
