PLATTSBURGH - John P. Carey, 61, of Plattsburgh, died Friday, June 27, at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital Medical Center.
He was born in Saranac Lake on Sept. 29, 1924, the son of William and Katie (Connelly) Carey.
Mr. Carey was a custodian at Plattsburgh Air Force Base.
A member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2166 of Dannemora, he was also a member of American Legion Post 20 in Plattsburgh.
Survivors include his wife, the former Barbara Varin; and a niece, Marion Gibbons of Mooers.
A funeral Mass was held this morning at Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
Funeral arrangements were with the O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
