SARANAC LAKE - Leo Quirk, 73, of 52 Broadway, Saranac Lake, died Monday, May 1, 1995 at the Adirondack Medical Center.

Born Sept. 10, 1921 in Rainbow Lake, he was a son of William J. and Georgiana (Parker) Quirk.

Mr. Quirk was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Marines. He had been a longtime resident of Chicago, Ill., where he had been employed as a dispatcher for a shipping company. He returned to Saranac Lake in 1980. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include a son, Larry Quirk of Chicago; a sister, Gloria Downs of Saranac Lake; a brother, Glenn Quirk of Tampa, Fla.; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A veteran's service will be held at 7:45, followed by a Bible vigil at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:15 a.m. Thursday at St. Bernard's Church in Saranac Lake. Interment will follow in Brighton Cemetery in Gabriels. Memorial donations may be made to the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad.
