SARANAC LAKE - Lillian M, Duffy, 76, of 62 Edward Street, Saranac Lake, died Thursday, at her home.

Born on Sept. 24, 1929 in Auburn, she was the daughter of Marion and Bertha (Nilan) Titus;

She married Charles Duffy on June 26, 1948 in Auburn. Mrs. Duffy was a resident of Saranac Lake for most of her life and had been employed by the Saranac Lake Central School District in the food service department, retiring in 1991 as a cook after 20 years of service. Following that she worked part-time in the food service department at Paul Smith's College. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and volunteering at St. Luke's Lunch Box.

She is survived by four daughters: Faye Clark and her husband Steven of Rutland, Vt, Kathleen Jenner and her husband David of Gaithersburg, Md., Colleen Duffy and her husband Russ Shaffer of Phoenix, Ariz, and Patricia Duffy of San Diego, Calif.; three sons: Robert Duffy and his wife Mary of Lake Clear, Charles "Tug" Duffy and his wife Maria of Bloomingdale, and Hugh "Kelly" Duffy and his wife Jennifer of Saranac Lake; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1982; and two brothers: Arthur and William Titus; and one sister Perry Harris.

Calling; hours; will take place from noon to 2 and 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 19:at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Bible vigil service will take place at 1:45 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:15 a.m. Monday, March 20 at St. Bernard's Church in Saranac Lake with the Rev. Jeffery Hubbard officiating. Burial will take place in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Saranac Lake.

Friends wishing to remember Lillian may make memorial contributions to the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad or High Peaks Hospice or the Carmelite Monastery in care of the funeral home.
