Adirondack Daily Enterprise, August 26, 1987The Live Wires was a group associated with the First Methodist Church.  They put on an annual bazaar through at least 1987.  The bazaar was sometimes held in conjunction with a turkey supper; the latter event continues to be  held.

LIVE WIRES TO HOLD REGULAR MEET MONDAY

Sewing for the annual bazaar in November was continued last night by 11 members of the Live Wires of the Methodist church who met at the home of Mrs. Harvey Winch, 1 Fawn street. Refreshments were served by the hostess. Those attending were the Mesdames Russell Heal, William Tyler, Thelma Lawrence, Catherine Brown, Flora Baker, Alvin Brown, John Pedroni and B. H. Gray and the Misses Ruth Spalding and Ruby Baker.

The next regular meeting of the Live Wires will be held at 8:15 o'clock Monday evening in the church. Mrs. Ernest Blood, Mrs. Donald Bailey and Mrs. William Tyler will act as hostesses.

The sewing group will convene again next Friday evening at the home of Mrs. William Tyler of 21 William street.

Live Wires  Finish Details for Bazaar

The Live Wires of the Methodist church met Monday at 8 o'clock in the Methodist church parlors to complete plans for their annual Fall Bazaar which will be held in the church hall from 2 o'clock on tomorrow afternoon.

The meeting was conducted by president Russell Heal. About 25 members of the organization were present to assist in decoration and arrangement of the booths.

This year the group has initiated two new booths, the Country Store which will sell home made relishes, rolls and other foods; and the Parcel Post booth, which will replace the old fashioned Gold Fish Bowl.

Pancake, Ham Supper Served Live Wires

The Live Wires of the Methodist Church held a pancake and ham supper last night in the Church assembly hall, under the chairmanship of Elwood Ober, John Pedroni and Jack Lawrence. Twenty members attended the supper and business meeting that followed.
