WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Loraine (Dickert) Green, 86, of West Hartford, died Sunday, July 17, 1994 at her home.
Born May 22, 1908 in Saranac Lake, she was the daughter of Charles L. and Fannie (Trombley) Dickert. She had lived in West Hartford for more than 52 years.
A 1925 graduate of Saranac Lake High School, she received a bachelor's degree in home economics from Russell Sage College in 1929 and a master's degree in education from the University of Hartford at a later date.
Mrs. Green taught home economics in Saranac Lake from 1929 through June 1933. She lived in Croton-on-Hudson in 1935, and in 1941 moved to West Hartford, where she taught home economics in Manchester from 1953 through 1954 and at Sedgewick Junior High School in West Hartford from 1954 to 1958, when she retired.
Survivors include her husband, Willard B. Green; a son, Willard B. Green Jr. of Harwinton, Conn.; a daughter, Barbara G. Siegrist of Simsbury, Conn.; a sister, Lillian Koernig of West Hartford; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A family memorial service was scheduled for today at the Hughes Convalescent Home, 29 High St, West Hartford, Conn., with the Rev. Roger Nicholson officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are in the care of the Vincent Funeral Home in Simsbury.
