Lucie Loeb Marks was the daughter of Otto S. Loeb and Settie Nathan Loeb. She and her husband were the last Knollwooders to use the Knollwood Casino, originally used by all Cottages for dining up until about 1932. Ed Marks and Lucie Loeb employed a staff of eleven downstairs people in 1944 and following years.

MISS LUCIE R. WEB WED TO EDWIN L MARKS'

Niece of Wife of President and an Executive of R. H. Macy Married by Justice Sherman.

Miss Lucie Renee Loeb, daughter of Mrs. Otto S. Loeb of 907 Fifth Avenue, and Edwin I. Marks, executive vice president and merchandising counselor of R. H. Macy & Co., Inc., were married on Wednesday in chambers by Supreme Court Justice Henry L. Sherman. Formal announcement of the marriage was made yesterday by the bride's mother.

After the ceremony a wedding breakfast was held at the bride's home, which was attended by fifty guests. Later Mr. and Mrs. Marks left for the South on their wedding trip. They plan to sail for Europe in January and on their return will reside at the Hotel Ambassador.

Mrs. Marks is a niece of Mrs. Jesse I. Straus, wife of the president of R. H. Macy & Co., Inc. Her father, who was a member of the New York Stock Exchange, died several years ago.

Mr. Marks joined R. H. Macy & Co. in 1924, coming here from Memphis, Tenn. He was graduated from Harvard, class of '08. After a year abroad, he became a clerk in Memphis, and eventually a part-owner of the business. He was merchandise counselor of women's apparel departments at Macy's when he was made an executive vice president four years ago.
