Mrs. Margaret Eddy Brown, widow of the late Dr. Robert M. Brown, chief surgeon of the Saranac Lake General Hospital from 1911 to 1921, died Dec. 17, 1965 in California following a short illness, at the age of 83, it has been learned here.
Mrs. Brown, daughter of the late George S. Eddy and Emma Billings Eddy, had been a resident of Saranac Lake from 1911 to 1935, and had been very active in local civic affairs. Following her departure from Saranac Lake, she had made her residence in Meriden, Conn., Daytona Beach, Fla., and, for the past three years, in Roseda, Calif. at the home of her son and daughter-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Brown.
She is survived by her son, a grandson, Robert Arthur Brown, at Roseda, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Howard Stevenson of Somers, Conn.; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Leah B. Eddy, of Washington, D. C.
Following cremation, Mrs. Brown's remains will be brought to Saranac Lake the last week In January, to be interred beside her husband; Dr. Robert M. Brown. Graveside services will be held for family and friends at that time.
