Mrs. M. Sweeney Gets Biggest Bass Of All

Never underrate the prowess of a woman as a sportsman! Take the case of Mrs. Marguerite Sweeney, superintendent of nurses at Ray Brook State Hospital. Her catch of a four-pound smallmouth bass on Saturday holds the season's record for the area.

The bass was 19 ½ inches long, 13 inches through the middle and was said to have been caught in Osgood Pond near Paul Smith's. It has been entered in the local and State contests at Pete Higgins Upper Broadway grocery.
