Miss McCaddon Dies In Monterey, Mexico
Miss Mary Elizabeth McCaddon, who died suddenly at Monterey, Mexico, was formerly a resident of Saranac Lake and attended school here. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Stanley G. McCaddon of 186 Serenata Court, Fort Pierce, Fla. Mr. McCaddon was connected with the S. Curtis Hayes Agency when he lived in Saranac Lake.
After graduating from local schools, Miss McCaddon attended the University of Miami and Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. For a time she was nurse in the office of Dr. Richard Bellaire in Saranac Lake. Later she became a counselor for 16 years at Moss Lake Camp at Big Moose where she had spent many summers as a camper. She was head counselor for seven years when the camp director, Dr. Longstaff, opened a winter school at St. Petersburg, Fla., the Adirondack South School, and named Miss McCaddon, dean.
Miss McCaddon was in Monterey with a group of students taking a concentrated course in Spanish when she died.
Funeral services will be in Fort Pierce, but time and date have not been set.
