Mayroe D. Simpson came from New York City to settle in Bloomingdale. He eventually opened Simpson's Service Station across from Baldwin’s Drug store. He and his wife Bertha had nine children.

M. D. SIMPSON DIES IN BDALE

Mayroe D. Simpson died early today at his home in Bloomingdale. His body will repose at his home. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, Bloomingdale. The time of service is not set. Mr. Simpson was born on Oct. 22, 1882, in Yarmouth, Mass., the son of Henry and Ellen Snow Simpson. For many years he operated a gas station in Bloomingdale before his retirement four years ago. Surviving besides his widow, Bertha Brickman, are eight children, William, of Malone; Edward, of Rochester; August, Bloomingdale; Charles, Rochester; Mrs. Dorothy White, Bloomingdale; Mrs. Ellen Hayes, Rochester; Mrs. Bertha Dyer, Rochester; Mrs. Alice Beckett, Sharon Hill, Pa. There are nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
