MISS MINNIE DOBBINS

Miss Minnie Dobbins, known to many people of Lake Placid, died in Saranac Lake Monday afternoon, after an illness of four months. Miss Dobbins was a cousin of Michael Gregory of this place. She suffered intensely but with a fortitude and patience that was the marvel of all who witnessed it.

Miss Dobbins was born in Boston 44 years ago. Her father, Edward Dobbins, who had filed upon valuable mining claims in the Canadian Northwest, was in Canada disposing of these when news came of his daughter's sickness. He arrived in Utica on his way home about the time of her death.

A sister of Miss Dobbins, the wife of Thomas Smith, who is employed by the Adirondack Hardware Co., was fatally burned while attending to her housework about a year ago in the house on Williams street where Miss Dobbins passed away.

The funeral was held at St. Barnard's church [sic] at 9.30 on Wednesday morning.
