Modolf Berghelsen was one of a group of Norwegian merchant seamen curing in the Sageman Cottage in September, 1942. For a column called "Cottage Calls," The Guild News interviewed him briefly:

"Out on the porch we found Modolf Berghelsen and Terje Hansen. Mr. Berghelsen hasn't been home in four years, but Saranac Lake is some comfort because it is very like Norway. He never tires of looking at the mountains."

His last name is spelled differently in the two different sources used here.
