ROCKEFELLER--Mary Molly" Gillett, 93, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, March 30, 2015 at her home in Paul Smith's, NY. She was born on September 26, 1921 in Pelham Manor, NY, the younger of two daughters of Harriet (Duncan) and William Van Kirk Gillett. She was presented at the Westchester and Baltimore Cotillions in 1938. She was a member of the Junior League of Pelham Manor, volunteered with the American Red Cross during the Second World War and became an active member of many organizations including the New York Botanical Garden and the National Trust for Scotland Foundation USA and served as President of the Board of Lady Managers of the Osborn (formally the Miriam Osborn Home). She married William Rockefeller in 1947 and the couple raised their family in Rye, NY. Mrs. Rockefeller was married twice. William Rockefeller predeceased her in 1990. Her second husband, Jeremiah Milbank, died in 2007. She is survived by her three daughters: Mary Gillett Burchell (Ian) of Leighton Buzzard, UK, Edith Rockefeller Laird of Seattle, WA and Kapalua, HI and Sarah Rockefeller Bogdanovitch (Philip) of Paul Smith's, NY. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, William Gillett Fogarty (Christine Kiriacopoulus) of Beverly, MA, Michael Avery Gillett (Whitney Ilg) of Marblehead, MA, Edith McKee "Tracy" Laird of Seattle, WA and New York, NY, Rebecca Stillman Hession (Matthew) of Andover, MA, Philip Matthew Bogdanovitch (Christine Dupuis) of Kailua-Kona, HI, Sarah Goodsell Bogdanovitch of Jacksonville, FL, and eight great-grandchildren. She was an aunt and dear friend to many. A family memorial celebration will be held later this year.
