Mrs. Nellie Abare

SARANAC LAKE—Mrs. Nellie M. Abare, 93, of 6 Broadway, died yesterday afternoon at the Sacred Heart Nursing Home in Plattsburgh.

She was born April 8, 1889, in Black Brook, the daughter of George and Philomena (Tebo) LaMay.

Her husband, Louis, died in 1948.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Wesley (Margaret) McClatchie of Peru, Mrs. James (Leona) Latour of Saranac Lake and Mrs. Henry (Charlotte) Bredlow of Bellaire, Md.; three sons, Lawrence of Baltimore, Md.; Sidney of Walden, Mass., and Kenneth of Glens Falls; 24 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Mrs. Abare had been a life-long resident of this area and was employed as a chamber maid at the Lake Placid Club and later at the Floyd-Jones camp on Upper Saranac Lake [sic: Lower Saranac Lake]. She retired in 1962.
