Oliver M. Tromblee maintained a small house at the Raquette River end of the Sweeney Carry and operated a horse-drawn wagon that carried boats and luggage between the two points. Much later, in 1891, the Sweeney lodge was replaced by the elegant new Wawbeek Hotel.
