Ralph J. Isabella was a World War II veteran.  He was a son of Joseph Consetti Derenzo. He owned the Alpine Hotel, at seven stories said to be the tallest building between Albany and Montreal.

A Funeral Mass for Ralph (Chuck) Isabella, who died suddenly Sunday morning, will be held at 10 a. m. Wednesday at St. Bernard's Church. Interment will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home. A veterans service will be held there at 7:45 p. m. Tuesday, an Elks service at 8 o'clock and a Rosary service at 8:15.

Mr. Isabella, who came to Saranac Lake about five years ago, was born April 14, 1911 in Rotterdam Junction, a son of Joseph Consetti Derenzo. He owned the Alpine Hotel here and was affiliated with the Iroquois Hotel in Tupper Lake. Mr. Isabella was active in civic affairs often providing dinners for worthy organizations. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 1508 and the American Legion. He served in World War II.

Survivors are his wife, the former Philomena Masterpolo; three daughters, Miss Jo-Ann Isabella of Tupper Lake, Mrs. Katherine Fredenburg of Rotterdam Junction, and Mrs. Patricia Ann Mastroianni of Schenectady; a son, Joseph A. of Rotterdam Junction; and nine grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Nicholas of Rotterdam Junction and Alfred of Amsterdam; and five sisters, Mrs. Louise  Speneieri of Balston Spa, and Mrs. Catherine Civatello, Mrs. Victoria Rotundo, Mrs. Lena Ranucci and Mrs. Mary Sano, all of Schenectady.
