Robert Duso was a World War II veteran.  He was a son of Fred Duso of Bloomingdale and a brother of Mrs. Gilbert Pratt.

He is buried in St. Bernard's cemetery; the grave is marked "NY BM 2 US Navy WW II" (Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class).

Robert Duso

Robert A. Duso, of 11 Fairview Ave., Saranac Lake, died Monday evening at Saranac Lake General Hospital at the age of 42.

Mr. Duso was a mechanic and was employed at the Bloomingdale Avenue Garage. He was a veteran of World War II with service in the Pacific as a boatswain's mate in the Navy. He was a member of the local VFW Post.

He was born Aug. 17, 1924 in Altona, a son of Fred and Hazel Lashway Duso.

Survivors are his wife, the former Peggy Rushlaw; three sons, Terry, 17, William, 15, Michael,  3; four daughters, Patricia, 18, Sally Ann, 10, Queenie, 6, and Tracy, 17 months; and his mother, of Altona.

Also two brothers, Harold of Elizabethtown, and Lloyd of Plattsburgh; five sisters, Mrs. Gilbert Pratt of Marion, Mrs Richard Robideau of Keeseville. Mrs. Robert  Buck of Oswego, Mrs. Watson Cheney of Rochester, Mrs. Richard Deyo of Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call, beginning Wednesday afternoon at the Keough and Son Funeral Home. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 10. A VFW service will be held at 7:30 Wed. evening and the Rosary will be said at 8 o'clock.

A service will be held at 7:30 p. m- Thursday evening at the funeral home followed by a Requiem Mass at 8 o'clock in St. Bernard's Church. A committal service will be held at 10 a. m. Friday at St. Bernard's Cemetery.
