Roger R. Hickok was an owner of Hickok's Boat Livery at Fish Creek, where he had a camp.  In 1936, he was elected village trustee of Bloomingdale.

The funeral of Roger Hickok, 66, a life-long resident of this place was held at the Methodist Church Sunday at 2 p.m. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and member of the American Legion. The Rev. Milo Barnard officiated. In May 1928 he married Mrs. Minnie Brown Wray, who survives him. He also leaves one son Robert E. Hickok of Bloomingdale and one step-son Sgt Gaylord Wray, who is stationed at Alaska with the Army Air Forces; a sister Mrs. Ollie Amsden of Saranac Lake, and a brother Albert Hickok of Schenectady. The body was placed in a vault until spring.
