SARANAC LAKE - Russell A. Newell died Tuesday morning at his home in Cleveland. He was a former resident of Paul Smiths and Saranac Lake.
He was born on Dec. 16, 1911 in Paul Smiths, the son of Russell and Beulah Sawyer Newell.
He is survived by three sons, Russell of Syracuse; Scott of Trey, Mich.; David of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was employed by Tech Machines of Cleveland.
Friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Philip Zebley, pastor of the Presbyterian church will officiate at the 11 a.m. at the funeral home
