CANTON - Sarah Redwood, 90, formerly of 20 Church St. in Saranac Lake, died Wednesday afternoon at the Moongate Nursing Home in Canton where she had been a resident for the past five years..
Mrs. Redwood was born April 10, 1893 in Paul Smiths, the daughter of Harvey and Ada (Shean) Hyde. Her husband John died in 1962.
She had been a long-time resident of the Paul Smiths area and was employed at Paul Smith's College for many years.
Survivors include a son, Lewis, of Zephyrhills, Fla; three brothers, Milton of Rochester, Ralph of Binghampton, and Olin of Largo,- Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be from 2 until 4 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Fortune Funeral Home.
Funeral services are Saturday at, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. John McLester of the Saranac Lake Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Brighton Cemetery in Gabriels.
