Adirondack Daily Enterprise, August 10, 1948Located on the back road going from Bloomingdale to Gabriels is the newly refurbished, remodeled, sunny-inside Shamrock Restaurant & Bar. Built in 1885, we are assuming as a home; some names that popped up were Orin Otis and Charles Martin. Somewhere in the 1940s, a woman by the name of Theresa Brewster owned it and ran it as a bar called the Shamrock. In 1960 Nancy Pandolfo purchased it from Theresa and kept it open under the same name. Then, in 1971, Nancy sold it to Mac and Harriet Jackson, who kept it open as the same business under the same name. Some of you will remember that their son Dave ran a garage there also lor several years. When Mac passed away, Harriet ran the bar for awhile and then sold antiques from there In 1 978 she closed the bar. In 2003 Barbara (better known as Doobie) Foley purchased the building from Harriet. 2007 saw the building back to the Shamrock Restaurant & Bar, now being run by "Doobie" Foley and her family. The Shamrock is open from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. weekdays and open later at night on the weekends.
