VOICE CLASSES SCHEDULED BY DEERWOOD HEAD

Sherwood Kains, director of the Deerwood Adirondack Music Center at Saranac Inn, has announced his establishment of voice training classes in Saranac Lake for the fall and winter months.

Mr. Kains, former Director of Music at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and director of the Cincinnati May Festival chorus, has taken up his residence in New York city. He will come to Saranac Lake for the weekends when he will conduct his classes.

He first studied voice in Cincinnati under Dr. John Hoffman, Conservatory dean and Dan Beddoe, a leading oratorio instructor. He studied operetta work at the Conservatory under Milan Petrovic and after his graduation went to New York to train with Hollis Dann and Frank LaForge who trained many famous singers.

Later Mr. Kains went to Europe to study with Siegfried Borris of the Hoch Seule fur Musik in Berlin and then was trained in London, England, by Rose Walters, noted Bach singer.

Voice classes of Mr. Kains will start next week and he will be here Friday. Those interested in voice instruction are asked to contact his brother, Louis Kains, of the Harrietstown road.
