Sol Greenspan held a state permit for Camp Bandana, his tent platform on Halfway Island in Lower Saranac Lake. His daughter Jill related that "you hung a bandana to indicate [the outhouse] was occupied." Guides and caretakers there were Bill Allen and George Umber.
