Theodore Peete was a caretaker at the Lake Clear Inn for twenty years and at the Weld Camp for fifty years.

LAKE CLEAR — Theodore Peete, 99, died Thursday morning, Jan. 11, 1990, at the General Hospital of Saranac Lake.

He was born in Owls Head on Sept. 8. 1890, the son of Nelson and Delia Peete. He had lived in Lake Clear since 1907.

Mr. Peete married Gertrude Lyons on April 19, 1924. She died March 80, 1986.

He worked as a caretaker at the Lake Clear Inn for 20 years and as a caretaker at the Weld Camp for 50 years.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge 1508.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Hazel McCullough of Saranac Lake; one granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Fortune Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Moody, pastor of St. John's Church in Lake Clear, officiating. Interment will be in the Brighton Cemetery in May.
