Rev. Theodore Bundy

SUNLAND, Calif. — A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 17, for the Rev. Theodore R. Bundy, 89, pastor of the Saranac Lake Methodist Church from 1938 to 1949, who died Aug. 1 in Sunland.

The service will be held at 7:30 p.m., in Christ Church United Methodist in Troy, N.Y.

Rev. Bundy was born in Troy and graduated from Williams College and the Boston University School of Theology. He was ordained a deacon in the Troy Conference of the United Methodist Church in 1922 and an elder in 1923.

He served pastorates in Vermont and New York State before retiring in 1961.

In addition, he was chairman of the Troy Conference's former Board of Ministerial Training and Qualifications and represented the conference on the board of the New York State Council of Churches. He was also a member of the council's Legislative Section.

Rev. Bundy was a 33rd degree Mason and a member of the Supreme Council of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite,- serving as the council's executive secretary in its Albany bodies.

Survivors include a son, Russell of Palmsdale, Calif.; a daughter, Marion Taylor of Winsted, Conn.; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
