Thomas Henry Brown was a World War II veteranHe was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. C Brown of 44 Helen St.  He operated Tom Brown's Sport Shop from 1946 to 1950.

Thomas Brown

Thomas Brown, a former Saranac Lake sports shop owner and an Adirondack Daily Enterprise sports columnist, has died at Corpus Christi, Tex. Mr. Brown was called back to duty by the Naval Reserve in 1950, and sold his shop at that time.

Mr. Brown first served in the Navy in World War II as an aerial gunnery instructor and was discharged as a chief in the ordnance department in 1946.

He opened a sporting goods store in Everett's after his release from the Navy and moved twice, finally to 43 Broadway. During this time he wrote a weekly column, "Fur, Fin and Feather" for this newspaper. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. C Brown of 44 Helen St. His wife, the former Marion Willett, was chief night telephone operator at the Saranac Lake office when they lived here.

Funeral arrangements, which are in the charge of the Keough and Son Memorial Chapel, Saranac Lake, are incomplete.
