Daniel Thomas Hennessy was a World War I veteran.  Born in Jay, he was a plumber and electrician.  He lived at 14 Helen Street, 15 Helen Street, and 11 Helen Street.

SARANAC LAKE -- D. Thomas Hennessy, 86, of 11 Helen St., a resident here for 70 years, died Sunday morning at General Hospital.

Mr. Hennessy was a plumber and electrician before he retired in 1967, He was a member of the Local No. 773 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union.

He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion.

Mr. Hennessy was born in Jay, the son of Daniel and Mary (Gilligan) Hennessy.

Survivors include his wife, the former Eleanora Roblee; four sons, Timothy of Colton, Terry of Avon, Colo., and Thomas and Todd, both of Saranac Lake; four daughters, Mary Lewis, Sue Dwyer and Nancy Fina, all of Saranac Lake, and Patricia Astolos of North Tonawanda; a sister, Eleanor Townsend of Saranac Lake; a nephew, Roper Ryan of Selkirk; a cousin, Lincoln Dudley of Saranac Lake, and 20 grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and there will be a Bible vigil at 8 p.m.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard's Church, with the pastor, the Rev. C.J. McAvoy, officiating.

Interment will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery in May.

Memorial donations may be made to Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid.
