Thomas L. Romeyn was a World War II veteran and a Korean War veteran. He was a son of Charles and Elsie (Sitterly) Romeyn.

VERMONTVILLE — Thomas L. Romeyn, age 71, of Vermontville, N.Y., died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 1993 at the Champlain Valley Physicians' Hospital Medical Center in Plattsburgh, N.Y.
Born April 25, 1922 in Amsterdam, N.Y. he was the son of Charles and Elsie (Sitterly) Romeyn.
Mr. Romeyn served 20 years in the U.S. Army from 1942 until 1962 and served in both WWII and the Korean War. From 1962 until his retirement in 1982, he was a civil service employee at Plattsburgh Air Force Base working in the commissary and receiving. He was an avid bowler and golfer. He had been a resident of the area since 1958.
Mr. Romeyn is survived by his wife, the former Naomi Marie Shumway, whom he married Sept. 22, 1962. Also surviving are two sons, Thomas Romeyn Jr., of Vermontville and Keith Romeyn of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Pamela Butcher of Keeseville and Janis Bowman of Baldwinsville; a step-son, Francis Hastings of Sand Point, Idaho; two step-daughters, Gretchen Messier of Waterford, N.Y. and Virginia Jennings of Mechanicville; a brother, Charles Romeyn of Hadley, N.Y; 28 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Church of the Nazarene in Vermontville with Pastor Robert Clark officiating and Pastor Glen Mitchell assisting. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery in Vermontville.
