Lieutenant Walter Stringham was a World War II veteran. He was a son of Frank Stringham of 92 Forest Hill Avenue.

Lieut. Walter R. Stringham, 24, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stringham of Saranac Lake, one of five service sons, was killed in France on Dec. 8. He was married and father of a young son. A graduate of Saranac Lake High school, he left that village with the National Guard in 1940. He had been overseas two months.
