Wendela Charlotta Fabert stayed in Saranac Lake for TB treatment during 1901 and 1902.  She was born in Katarina, Stockholm, Sweden in 1867, the daughter of Lars and Brita (Lundbert) Fabert,   She also went by the name of Vendla/Wendela Faubert and Vendla/Wendela Jaeger (first marriage), and Wendela Kappus.  In the early part of 1900, Wendela contracted tuberculosis and was privileged to attend Saranac Lake Rehabilitation.    After leaving Saranac Lake she married Charles Frederick Kappus in 1902, and settle in Mount Vernon, New York.  There, she and Charles had four children, Carl Frederick Faubert Kappus, Bertha Josephine Kappus, Louise Wendela Kappus and George Harold Kappus.  All four children grew to adulthood and had families of their own.   She passed away in 1932 and is buried in Valhalla, New York with her husband Charles Kappus.
