William A. Winn was a doctor and came to Saranac Lake with pleurisy in 1931. He had gone to Harvard Medical School in pathology when he came to Saranac Lake for his health. He worked as the director of the Tulare-Kings Counties Joint Tuberculosis Sanatorium in Springville, CA from 1935 to 1964.
Winn is listed as a co-author on the article, "Immunological Studies in Tuberculosis: VII. Resistance of Chickens Sensitized with Heat-Killed and Living Avian Tubercule Bacilli," with S. A. Petroff and W. Steenken, Jr. The article was first published in The Journal of Immunology, Vol. XXII, No. 6, June, 1932, and was submitted for publication on December 2, 1931 from the Research and Clinical Laboratory, Trudeau Sanatorium.
