SARANAC LAKE — William F. LaPan, 78, of 502 Mountain Brook Drive, King, N.C., died Saturday, July 10, in King.
He was born in Saranac Lake, the son of John Henry and Adelaide (Hutchins) LaPan.
Mr. LaPan was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and the Elks Lodge, both in Saranac Lake.
He was a graduate of Union College and had been an oil dealer in Saranac Lake until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth (Ames) LaPan of King; a daughter, Mrs. Samuel May of Bermuda Run, N.C.; a son, Dr. W. Ames LaPan of Stafford Springs, Conn., a sister, Mrs. James F. Hickey of Brookton, Mass; and a brother, James H. LaPan of Saranac Lake.
A memorial service was held yesterday at the Volger-Clemens Chapel, Volger Funeral Home, Clemens, N.C. Donations, in his memory, may be made to the American Cancer Society.
