This coastal estuary is about 1300 acres with over 200 species of birds. There's hiking, bird watching, and docent-led tours available to the public. The wetlands are home to many birds, mammals, reptiles, and and fish, as well as native plant life. There are some rare and endangered plants in the wetlands as well.  The Interpretive Center is now open to the public and features educational and interactive displays. The center is located at 21900 PCH, at the corner of PCH and Newland.
