If a website refuses to cooperate - make sure you are using Internet Explorer. In rare cases, it will still refuse to cooperate - you may also need to use a Korean-language operating system.

The newer version (Microsoft Edge) is not compatible with many Korean websites.

Virtual Machine

Korean websites require lots of plugins and security checks. If you want to avoid installing these directly onto your computer, consider installing a virtual machine, and only running your bank/shopping transactions in the virtual machine. This creates a separate environment, and stops any programs and websites in the virtual machine from accessing the rest of your computer.

Windows

  1. Download and install VMware's Workstation Player. It is free for personal use.
  2. Pick an IE10 or IE11 virtual machine from this list on Microsoft.com, and download it.
    • Do NOT download a Microsoft Edge virtual machine. It is not compatible with some Korean websites.
  3. You should be able to double-click the virtual machine, and it will launch in VMware Workstation Player.
