There is some interesting information on Wikivoyage and Yelp, but we need more local information.  Let's make this better than both!

Highlights:

Cihangir in Beyoğlu district, which includes Taksim Square and Gezi Park (frequent locations of protest)

Kadıköy district (the ancient city of Chalcedon), the hip neighborhood on the Asian side of the Bosphorus straight

Sultanahmet in Fatih district (the ancient city of Constantinople, including Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace)

Rakı, the popular anise-flavored alcoholic beverage

Airports: IST, SAW, a new airport to be built on the European Side

Nearby geographical features: Sea of Marmara, Prince Islands, Black Sea

Transportation: Funiculars, Ferries, Bridges, Metro, Taxis, Walking, Bicycling (for the brave)
