Got up this morning in Houghton and the car was making a horrible screeching noise. Quick, check the Michigan Tech Parents Wiki page! Found The Muffler Shop just around the corner from the hotel. They were wonderful. Since they knew we were leaving today, a guy drove it right away to see what kind of problem it might be. Turned out to be a bent piece rubbing...they bent it back and sent us on our way. Wouldn't take payment and left popcorn on the seat of the car anyway😀.
- Our son just had his car fixed by Rick at The Muffler Shop in Houghton by Walmart. It wasn't his muffler either...very courteous, timely and not too expensive. They will even pick up car and drop back off. He said the best part was that they left him some popcorn and snacks on the front seat when he went to pick it up! I would highly recommend them for any car repairs!

- I went to The Muffler Shop from 2 different references. They were referred by the local Ford dealer since they were too busy to fit me in for a week AND I chose them due to the great reviews on this page. Rick fit me in the schedule the next day and Doug made sure my vehicle was worked on first thing that morning. Tim had the problem diagnosed and fixed within an hour! I did not even have time to finish my 2nd cup of coffee and donut (that a previous customer had dropped off). I appreciated the effort to fix my vehicle while I waited. And yes, I had gourmet popcorn waiting for me in my vehicle when I drove away. This type of customer service will keep them as my first phone call next time I need work done. This is what small town living is about!

In St. Ignace, try George's: "Took son up to northern on way to see daughter at tech. Truck broke down at big boys on a Saturday at 2, everything closed till Monday. Lance at George's for a tow truck at 730 Monday and was on road by 10 with broken break line fixed for under 150. Nice people and put me ahead of others because from out of town. Great service"
