Cycling in Kitchener is centered on the Iron Horse Trail. The Iron Horse runs across the city from Uptown Waterloo all the way to Paris, Ontario, and runs along in the bed of a former rail line.
Many newly paved streets in Kitchener and Waterloo have bike lanes, and drivers are relatively polite to cyclists. Be sure to understand how Roundabouts work!
The City of Kitchener has installed bike racks along the streets to make it easy to lock up, and all GRT buses have bike racks as well.
