The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (often shortened to "The Coffee Bean," or simply "Coffee Bean") is an international privately-owned coffee chain founded in September 1963 and headquartered in Mid-Wilshire. Founder Herbert B. Hyman opened the first location in Brentwood. Starbucks attempted to buy the company in 1991, but Hyman refused. There are now over 1,000 locations around the world.

Coffee Bean invented the Ice Blended in the 1970s, which would inspire the creation of the Frappuccino at Starbucks.

Coffee Bean locations are good places to find Wi-Fi access.
