The name pretty much says it all — part lamb, part banana. The original Super Lamb Banana was a seventeen-foot tall concrete and steel sculpture located on the Strand. Intended to critique the growth of genetically modified food, the Super Lamb Banana also referenced Liverpool's history of lamb and banana trade. While opinions on its artistic merit are quite divided, the Super Lamb Banana has become an unparalleled cultural phenomenon.
