Scouse - is a very complex concept, and a very dishy stew.
As well as being the official accent and dialect of English within the city of Liverpool and parts of Merseyside, scouse is a vociferous identity and sense of humour inherited by birth or selectively betrothed on people who live and work within the scouse boundaries.
The Scouse accent is highly distinctive and derives from a mixture of Welsh, Irish, Scottish and other Celtic dialects. Inhabitants of Liverpool are called Liverpudlians, but are more often described by the colloquialism Scousers.[1]
