Pinehurst, North Carolina was founded in 1895, based on the vision of James W. Tufts, and is well known internationally in the golfing world for its' many challenging golf courses.

Pinehurst Country Club hosted the PGA tour's 2014 US open at course #2, in which Martin Kaymer took home the first place trophy with a score of nine under par for the tournament.

Despite #2 being the most renowned course at Pinehurst Country Club, the club has eight other courses for golfers to choose from.

Apart from Pinehurst Country Club, the village of Pinehurst has many boutiques and shops that can appeal to many different people, even though golf is  a common theme throughout the town.
