MISSION
Formed in 1950, the Dunn County Historical Society discovers, preserves, interprets and shares knowledge about the history of Dunn County and its role in Wisconsin, and inspires interest in the past.
RUSSELL RASSBACH HERITAGE MUSEUM
Located in Menomonie's Wakanda Park, the Rassbach Museum tells intriguing, ever-changing stories of an area of Wisconsin with a long and rich history — from the mound builders of a thousand years ago to Dunn County’s friendly communities of today. And our Fulton’s Workshop, new in 2018, is an interactive space for people of all ages to learn, marvel and make.

CADDIE WOODLAWN HISTORICAL PARK
In 1857 John Woodhouse, with his wife Harriet and their five children, moved from the relative comforts of Boston to 160 acres of rugged Dunn County wilderness. One of the children was Caroline Augusta, whose real-life adventures were the inspiration for Carol Ryrie Brink’s classic children’s book 'Caddie Woodlawn.' The Newbery Award-winning book was published in 1935, followed by a companion book, 'Magical Melons' (later renamed Caddie Woodlawn's Family) in 1939.
Caddie Woodlawn Historical Park, featuring the family's restored home, was dedicated in July 1970, a project of the Dunn County Historical Society in association with local service clubs, businesses and the greater community. The park is located nine miles south of Menomonie, on Wisconsin Highway 25.
Hours and Season: Open during daylight hours spring through fall.
