Launched in August 2010,Beached Miami is a hyperlocal culture blog that covers music, arts, bike scene, community news, sports, and other topics, organizes regular events (concerts, group bike rides, etc.), and provides a platform for Miami creatives to communicate with the city (more than 50 contributors to date). Beached Miami's editor is Miami native Jordan Melnick¹, a journalist who has written for The New York Times², The Atlantic Cities³, The Miami Herald, WLRN⁴, Ocean Drive, and other publications. Its music editor is another Miami native, William Alton, an occasional Consequence Of Sound⁵ contributor and the curator of the Miami Music Guide.  The Miami New Times named Beached Miami Best Blog in 2011⁶ and New Times readers named it Best Miami Blog in the 2012 South Florida Web Awards.⁷
