Launched in August 2010,Beached Miami is a hyperlocal culture blog that covers music, arts, bike scene, community news, sports, and other topics, organizes regular events (concerts, group bike rides, etc.), and provides a platform for Miami creatives to communicate with the city (more than 50 contributors to date). Beached Miami's editor is Miami native Jordan Melnick1, a journalist who has written for The New York Times2, The Atlantic Cities3, The Miami Herald, WLRN4, Ocean Drive, and other publications. Its music editor is another Miami native, William Alton, an occasional Consequence Of Sound5 contributor and the curator of the Miami Music Guide.  The Miami New Times named Beached Miami Best Blog in 20116 and New Times readers named it Best Miami Blog in the 2012 South Florida Web Awards.7
