Commissioner Suarez (District 4) was born and raised in Miami. The oldest of four siblings, he was born into a family where, according to the Commissioner, “being socially conscious was kind of a requirement.” Commissioner Suarez attended La Salle High School before obtaining his B.S. in finance from Florida International University, where he graduated in the top ten percent of his class. In 2005, Commissioner Suarez received his law degree, with honors, from the Frederic G. Levin College of Law at the University of Florida. As a law student, Commissioner Suarez was selected for the honors internship program at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Miami Branch.
