Cooksville Creek runs through the centre of Mississauga, roughly parallel to Hurontario Street, rising near the 401 and emptying into Lake Ontario on the eastern fringe of Port Credit.

North of King Street, the creek has been fully channelized, confined to a narrow strip of land, which has led to flooding south of there. The city is working on a number of ponds and storage tanks to improve the situation.

Cooksville Creek branches just south Burnhamthorpe Road in Mississauga Valleys Park; both branches north of there are known as Cooksville Creek. Other tributaries include the diverted Cawthra Creek, pipes draining the eastern Valleys and City Centre, and a ditch along the 403 diverting flows from Confederation Parkway that would otherwise go through City Centre.
