Decription Foodpath collects and distributes over 200,000 kilograms, (450,000 pounds), of food, through its food bank/distribution program each month, supplying over forty food related programs in Peel Region, Halton, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton, and the GTA.

Foodpath develops, maintains, and assists programs to: • Provide food, volunteers and leadership each day for Breakfast Programs, to ensure that no Mississauga child begins his/her school day hungry • Provides food, clients, and partnerships with the Healthy Start Program to reduce the number of low birth-weight babies born in Mississauga • Provide food to other support agencies in Peel Region, Halton, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton, and the GTA to strengthen the nutritional component of their programs and reduce their food budget costs • Provide leadership and support for the development of programs for all people of Peel Region to enhance the nutritional quality of the food they eat and the meals they plan • Provides food orders (through distribution programs) weekly to forty-two food related programs, including Breakfast Clubs, Healthy Start Prenatal programs, other food banks, soup kitchens, abuse shelters, a drug/alcohol rehab program and homeless shelters.

• Provides (in conjunction with Interim Place 1&2 and the homeless shelters operating in Peel Region) programs where people leaving these facilities are referred to Foodpath and a full start-up order is provided. This order includes a full grocery order plus household goods as deemed necessary. These families are allowed to access the food bank every two weeks for three months and at the end of this period are reassessed as to their need.

• Networks with other social agencies and religious groups in Mississauga for the purpose of making food from Foodpath available to them and at the same time for Foodpath to benefit from their expertise in volunteer training programs and the delivery of these services.
