2009-08-27 12:26:43   Her refusal to retire has cost one generation of politicians the chance to run for the position. That lack of contest serves to keep voter turnout low and doesn't allow fresh blood and ideas into Council. Sadly Ms. McCallion announced that she would run once more in 2010 at the age of 89, some should review actuarial mortality tables - we will all pass at some point. She should become our cherished Past Mayor and held in all respect. —AlanForde
