The Booster is a community newspaper. It is distributed every wednesday East Oakville, Clarkson, Lorne Park and Port Credit. In Streetsville and Meadowvale it is distributed on a monthly basis.
It was founded in Streetsville in 1964 by Sam McCallion and run by the McCallion family until 2003, when it was acquired by Metroland.
The Booster’s editorial focus is on news and local businesses. Volunteerism, kids making a difference, local heroes, a glimpse into our schools are the types of stories that are covered.
A popular feature of The Booster is the Community Calendar, a comprehensive, up to date, easy-to-read listing of everything that’s going on in each of the neighbourhoods they report on.
